Cath and Mark's July Wedding

Cath & Mark celebrated their special day at The Sun Pavilion on 16th July 2022, in a beautiful sunny summer ceremony and it was a joyous occasion filled with love, laughter, and memorable moments.

Cath and Mark's wedding was filled with personal touches that made it truly unforgettable. As guests arrived at the reception, they were greeted with a glass of Leventhorpe Vineyard Yorkshire Brut, crafted by their next-door neighbour. Embracing their love for festivals, the tables were named after various stages at Glastonbury, adding a touch of whimsy to the celebration. The couple also delighted their guests with an ice cream van on the terrace, serving delicious, hand-made Italian-style ice cream. The menu featured mouth-watering dishes, including a spinach, artichoke and vine tomato filo tart to start, roast sirloin of beef for main, and a delectable trio of lemon tart, Eton Mess and Pimm's summer jelly for dessert.

The wedding day was made even more magical by a musical performance for their son, Fraser. Playing "Chasing Cars" on the piano for their first dance, Fraser's talent filled the venue with an incredible ambience. Cath expresses, "The piano playing by my son was incredible, and the music resonated perfectly with the venue's incredible acoustics. It added an unforgettable touch to our special day." They also had the brilliant "The Band Upstairs" playing in the Valley Gardens bandstand, the grounds in which The Sun Pavilion is located.

We asked Cath & Mark why they chose The Sun Pavilion

Cath and Mark's journey to finding their perfect wedding venue was a whirlwind romance that began and ended with The Sun Pavilion. As soon as they laid eyes on this stunning venue, they knew it was the one. Cath explains, "It was the first and only place we viewed, and it was love at first sight! We wanted an outdoor feel, and the terrace at The Sun Pavilion provided exactly that. The beautiful building itself spoke volumes about its elegance and historic charm. It was the most perfect venue I could have imagined—classy, beautiful, and steeped in history."

Any advice for couples planning their own wedding?

Drawing from their experience, Cath and Mark have some valuable advice for couples embarking on their wedding planning journey. Cath suggests, "Keep it elegant and simple with colours. The Sun Pavilion is already so beautiful that it requires very little additional decoration." Highlighting the importance of personalisation, she adds, "Include personal details and involve talented friends and family to make your wedding even more special. It's the little touches that create lasting memories." Reflecting on her own journey, Cath shares, "I initially worried about the small details, but looking back, I'm glad I put in the effort. Embrace the process, enjoy every moment, and trust that everything will come together beautifully."
