Marie and Laurence's August Wedding

The Sun Pavilion, where love stories come to life amidst the backdrop of nature's beauty. On a sun-kissed Saturday, 13th August 2022, we had the pleasure of hosting the wedding of Marie and Laurence in the heart of Valley Gardens.

The day unfolded with countless moments that made it truly special. The Valley Gardens, adorned with exquisite flowers, created a picture-perfect setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Their celebrant, Linda, infused the ceremony with warmth and meaning, evoking emotions that swept the couple and their guests. Marie and Laurence's wedding day featured two ceremonies – a small legal one in the morning and a larger, personalised ceremony in the afternoon, led by Linda. This unique approach allowed their friends and family to witness their vows and ring exchange creating a beautifully tailored experience.

The speeches, delivered by the Father of the Groom, Father of the Bride, Sister of the Bride, and Best Man were a perfect blend of gratitude, warmth and playful jesting. Marie shared a brief speech, offering thanks and surprising Laurence with a birthday cake, as their wedding coincided with his special day. The first dance to "You've Got a Friend in Me" set the tone for an evening of lively celebration.

We asked Marie and Laurence why they chose the Sun Pavilion?

When we asked Marie and Laurence why they chose the Sun Pavilion we found out it was chance encounter. During a leisurely walk through Valley Gardens in July 2021 with her mum and dog Marie saw a wedding taking place at The Sun Pavilion. The atmosphere left a mark on Marie's heart. It was here that their love story would later take root. Following Laurence's proposal in November 2021, the couple scoured venues in London, but none captured their vision. It was then that Marie's mum reminded her of the Sun Pavilion. A virtual viewing sealed the deal, as they realised this venue perfectly combined an eye-catching interior with the green outdoor space they both craved.

Any advice for couples planning their own wedding?

Marie and Laurence offered their advice for couples in the throes of wedding planning. They said: "Try to enjoy every (ok, most) moments of the planning and the build up, even if it feels stressful at the time. It genuinely is all worth it in the end, and it all whizzes by so quickly. Don't worry about tradition for tradition's sake - do what makes the most sense for you as a couple."

As we reflect on Marie and Laurence's wedding day at The Sun Pavilion, we are reminded of the joy of bringing friends and family together for a grand celebration has. Especially after the limitations of the pandemic, it was a profound moment. As the day transitioned into evening, friends and family played games on the terrace and in the Valley Gardens. The dance floor was a whirl of energy, with music from Backstage Brass and DJ ensured that the dance floor was never empty. We extend our warmest wishes to the newlyweds, hoping their path ahead is filled with adventures, laughter, and an unbreakable bond.
