Daniel and Hayley’s January Wedding
Saturday 4th January 2020
Daniel and Hayley’s wedding day marked our first of 2020 and what a great start to the year it was! The 4th of January was a glorious winter’s day and the two o’clock ceremony took place beneath our stained glass dome with lots of sunlight flooding in on their 120 guests. One of the reasons for choosing us as their wedding venue was “the amazing natural light” so it was so lovely to have such a beautiful day for the wedding.
They also really liked the fact that we’re just one room which keeps everyone together. We asked them what made their day really special “Many things! The sunshine, having everyone we love all in the same room for a party, seeing all of our guests happy and having a good time, the quality of service from the event staff, the wonderful registrar and light-hearted service, the freedom to make the day our own with our chosen music, entertainment, decorations and a tailored menu.”
For their wedding breakfast Daniel and Hayley chose a salmon, prawn and seabass terrine to start, followed by roasted breast of guinea fowl and then finished off with a good helping of sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce. The bride and groom each made a speech before the meal was served.
Any advice for couples planning a wedding?
“Get friends and family involved! Our day was made extra special by all the input from friends and family who made the cake, played musical instruments, and provided the flowers. The decorations and invitations were homemade or homegrown and the DJ was a friend of ours. My chauffeur was my brother-in-law!
We tried to ensure our wedding was as sustainable as possible so we used natural materials for all of our decorations, with the exception of candle holders and fairy lights. Everything was homemade or home grown. Most of which are still being used to decorate our house and the houses our family. The archway we were married in front of now stands in our garden and the remainder of the foliage that was used to decorate the venue is now composting in our gardens ready to be used in our vegetable patches!”
